Hey everyone, Sammy here. I started this page to send a huge thank you to everyone who’s pitched in so far, our family really can’t thank you enough. I will also post updates when I can. Please excuse us if Claudia and I are slow to respond, we’re using our full energy on this at the moment.
As some of you know, Claudia and I live in McAllen. Jordan and his mom live up in Houston so we had to drop everything and come here to support. He’s undergoing his treatment at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital here in Houston. Me, Claudia, Jordan’s mom Betty and his two grandparents are going to be here for the next couple of weeks while Jordan’s treatment plan is finalized.
We’re staying positive! and keeping busy. I’ve lost about 6 games of FIFA so far.
At the moment, his diagnosis has not been finalized. We do know it is an aggressive Non Hodgkin’s B-cell lymphoma. They’ve had enough information to start treatment since Feb.3. On Wednesday Feb.12, Jordan did his third round of chemo. This type of lymphoma grows fast and suddenly, Jordan went to the ER with stomach issues and they found a mass growing in his abdomen. The good news is that it is very treatable. As of right now, everything is going according to plan - Jordan is taking it all so well under the circumstances. His main complaint is boredom - we are still waiting to hear how long his in patient treatment will last. If you’ve spent extended time at a hospital, you know how draining it can be. Jordan is a champ. His mom has been by his side the entire two weeks. Claudia, myself and his grandparents are working in shifts to help them.
We are confident and assured by the oncology team at this hospital and so far Jordan is taking it really well. His recovery will be several months long. Your contribution is helping us out tremendously at the moment. Again, the Saenz family appreciates you for your help at this moment, it means a lot. Keep us in your thoughts and I will leave you all with some of my favorite photos of us below :)
Our new friend, Pilot!
